Three More Important Endorsements in Final Month

Superintendent of Public Instruction Jack O’Connell, Assemblywoman Julie Brownley, and former Assemblywoman Hannah-Beth Jackson Support Tim Allison’s bid for 24th Congressional District

Ventura, Calif.—May 5, 2010. Tim Allison, Democratic candidate for California’s 24th Congressional District, received three more key endorsements this week. These endorsements round out his diverse support from the California Democratic Party, educational and environmental organizations, organized labor, and elected officials.

Jack O’Connell, Superintendent of Public Instruction. O’Connell is serving his second term as superintendent of public instruction, which is responsible for all California schools, from elementary school through graduate programs. Previously, he served as both a state assemblymen and senator.

Julie Brownley, Assemblywoman, 41st assembly district. Brownley was elected to the Assembly in 2006, after serving 12 years on the board of the Santa Monica-Malibu Unified School District. Her district includes parts of Los Angeles and Ventura Counties.

Hannah-Beth Jackson, former assemblywoman. Jackson represented the 35th assembly district for six years, and was elected in 1998. This district included parts of Santa Barbara and Ventura counties. She was the Democratic candidate for the 19th state senate district in 2008.
