Tim Allison Wins the Democratic Primary in California’s 24th Congressional District

Preliminary results indicate Allison will win and move on to face 23-year-incumbent Elton Gallegly in the general election.

Ventra, CA—Tim Allison has won the Democratic nomination for U.S. House of Representatives in California’s 24th district. Allison will now move on to face Republican Elton Gallegly in the November general election.

While the official results have not been certified by the Secretary of State, 100% of precincts have reported and returns indicate that Allison garnered 15,530 votes or 47.5% of the vote. Allison’s two opponents Marie Panec and Shawn Stern received 29.7% and 22.8% respectively.

“I am deeply humbled and honored by the results of yesterday’s election,” Allison said. “This victory represents hundreds of hours of work by my volunteers knocking on doors, phoning voters and delivering signs – I simply could not have done this without them.”

“The results make it apparent to me that people throughout the district – from Thousand Oaks to Lompoc – are dissatisfied with their current representation in Congress.  If we are to change things in Washington, we need to start by replacing ineffective career politician incumbents who are part of the problem.  In the months ahead, my campaign will continue to focus on jumpstarting our economy, improving education and protecting our environment. I will also to hold regular and public town hall meetings during the campaign and I will continue that practice after I am elected to Congress; because it is important for the people to have direct access to their representatives in Washington.”

Allison is a successful businessman and community organizer who has lived in California for the past 14 years. He has an extensive record of community involvement in local non-profits, political campaigns and community organizations.  He is not a politician and has never held elective office.

Allison has a bachelor’s degree in economics, a law degree, has been executive director of an environmental non-profit, managed a successful effort to provide over $2 million per year to clean up creek and ocean pollution and served as president of the Ventura County Small Business Coalition.

The 24th Congressional District includes the cities of Fillmore, Santa Paula, Simi Valley, Moorpark, Thousand Oaks, Camarillo, Ventura, Ojai, Lompoc, and the Santa Ynez Valley. More information can be found at www.TimAllison.com
