Dear Friends,

Thank you for visiting the Tim Allison for Congress website. Please take a moment to learn about my story so that you will know something about the passion, principles and values that define who I am and what kind of Congressman I will be.

In California’s 24th Congressional District, we are fortunate to live in an area with such beautiful valleys and vistas. We have an incredibly diverse employment base---from high-tech industries and aerospace to agriculture; from education, research and pharmaceutical to military, government and tourism, among others. But our district is struggling with the challenges of a recession that has swept the country leaving rising unemployment and falling real estate values in its path.

Each of us can take comfort in the fact that our nation has never backed down from challenges. For all the turmoil the recession has caused, it also offers us a once in a generation opportunity to improve education, reform healthcare and jumpstart our economy while developing renewable energy and creating green jobs. To do these things and more, our district must have public servants who provide leadership, rather than those who just say no. Change requires hard work, commitment and a passion for the job.

As a member of Congress, I will be guided by my principles. I will lead by the values instilled in me while growing up in the Midwest--lessons of hard work, integrity and personal responsibility and the importance of education and family. As the parents of a young child, my wife and I understand the critical need for excellent schools, community activities, arts education, youth sports and the bonds that are formed by strong schools, families and neighborhoods. In these challenging economic times, we must retain our sense of community and together we will be empowered to make the changes we seek.
